Member Biography

Spouse/Significant Other: no one currently, but I am working on it.

Children: Kari is my step-daughter and I have three beautiful grandkids, Tyler-16, Chloe-15, Bailey-5. Kari has had a wonderful guy in her life for over a year now that I already consider family, along with his 6 year old daugher, Leea. I have a step-son, Jason and he is married to a wonderful woman named Erin.

Animals/Pets: I have a calico cat named Diva, that rules the house.

Hobbies: reading, cooking, BBQs, grandkid's baseball games, being outside in nature.

I am originally from: Raytown, MO. Got married in 1985 and moved to Steamboat Springs, CO and Silverthorne, CO after that. My husband died in 1995 and I moved to Wrightwood, CA and finally back to KC in 2004 to take care of my 93 year old mother. She died in 2010 and I still live in the house that I was born in. Not many people can say that.

My definition of the good life is: being with family and friends, traveling and seeing the world, good food along the way, a good margarita and a brownie (but probably not together).

My burning desire is to: travel like I used to when my husband was alive and be able to take my grandkids to see wonderful places.
What makes me laugh is: watching other people enjoy themselves and laugh at their own jokes.

Something no one knows about me is: I have written two novels and four non-fiction books. My latest novel is Saving the Crystal Skull: A Maya Metaphysical Adventure of 2012 Prophecy. Also just out is Discovering the Magickal Mysterious Character: Empowering Teens and Women of All Ages Using Native American Teachings. The latest, latest book is a real estate book called Strategic Short Sales: Morally Wrong or Financially Prudent? It helps individuals understand that they have options in today's unprecedented real estate market.

Testimonials

"Have to admit I've just changed my view of realtors. Before they rated just above attornies in my book, but working with Phyllis on my last land deal was fantastic. She did everything she said she would and we actually closed two weeks early. Great job." Tom M.

"I was so under water in my home I had no idea where to turn. Everything I did got me in deeper. Phyllis was wonderful in explaining that I had been the prey of an unscrupulous lending firm back in 2007 and my situation was not totally my fault, as I had always felt. She turned my life around when she was able to get a short sale for my house. I am now on track rebuilding my credit and hope to be back in a home of my own within a few years." Harriett H.

"Phyllis was great in helping us find just the right property in Kansas City. Having come from Arkansas, we did not know the area well, but Phyllis listened to what we wanted and was able to find a perfect home. It was a HUD property and we were able to get it for about half of what it will be worth as soon as I complete a few renovations. She went above and beyond to get the deal closed, including a couple of mad dashes to Joplin, MO where we met to sign papers. Thanks for all your hard work." Larry and Judy W.

"I just read Phyllis' new real estate book, Strategic Short Sales: Morally Wrong or Financially Prudent? Very interesting read. Quite a different opinion, but one that I think may be considered more and more. Good Luck." Sheila Dees, Stonebridge Mortgage

“Wanted to give you a plug for your new novel, Saving the Crystal Skull. It is a fascinating, fun adventure into a subject that I keep hearing about, but knew little. You’ve done a tremendous amount of research on the subject of the Maya Indians and the amazing myths of their calendar and civilization. No one knows what is really going to happen on the December 21, 2012, but I am glad that Mack McAlister (our hero) is around to save the destruction of the Earth. Can’t wait for the sequel. I highly recommend the book to anyone who is looking to learn something new and have a fun read.” Dave Atkins
